Mr. Avinash W. Purandare
Vice President and Head Corporate Global Marketing and Strategy with Kirloskar Brothers
Ltd. since 1st March 2005. His is a BE (Electrical) from College of Engineering,
Pune and also attended Stanford Executive Program from Stanford School of Business,
USA in 2008.. He was associated with SAP India (P) Ltd., Softline Pvt Ltd., Siemens
Ltd., Jaivic Engineering Pvt.Ltd., Meltron Semiconductors Ltd. before being part
of Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. His journey of last 27 years in the industry has given
him opportunity to work in various business functions like Production, Quality Control,
Design, Materials, IT and Marketing in various capacities as Production Engineer,
Production Officer, Plant In-charge, Production Manager, Material Manager, SAP Consultant,
Project Manager, Program Manager, Practice head, CIO and CMO ( Chief Marketing officer).
He is influenced by books like The Goal by Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt and Jonathan Livingston
Seagull by
Richard Bach which offer valuable insights. “Do nothing else but the best”
is his philosophy.

Ms. Mandakini Dhannraj Awasarmol
Manager – HRD, Morarjee Textiles Ltd. – Unit 2, Nagpur since April 2, 2003. She
is BE (Textile Engineering) 1991 from V.J.T.I., Mumbai University, Post Graduate
Diploma in Business Management followed with Certification in Lean Six Sigma - Green
Belt. She was associated with Govt. Polytechnic Nagpur as Lecturer, with Sajdeh
Enterprises Mumbai as Sales & Marketing Manager where she handled textile machinery
division, with Mangrul Mills, Nagpur as Training Officer imparted Technical & Soft
Skill Training to worker. In Morarjee Textiles Ltd. – Unit 2 she is actively involved
in Technical & Soft Skill Training to worker & Staff, Coordinating Quality Circle
& Six Sigma Activities, Employee Engagement like Sports, Cultural, Celebrations
and Running Women’s Counseling Forum. She is influenced by The Ice Cream Maker authored
by Mr. Subir Chowdhury.

LTD., IBG WELDING RESEARCH (INDIA) PVT. LTD. since July 1997. He is a BE (Mechanical)
from VJTI, Mumbai University, MBA (Operations) from JDC Bytco Inst. of Management,
Pune University, Certificate Course in Work Study from Newcastle-upon-Tyne Polytechnic,
UK. He started his career from Crompton Greaves Ltd.,Mumbai as Management Trainee,
Wardhaman Automotive Electricals Pvt. Ltd., Pune, and Del Star Pvt. Ltd. His vision
has always been to build an organisation that can deliver desired returns to all
its stakeholders over the long term. He was very clear that this would have to be
achieved only through a combination of hard work, discipline, innovation & integrity.
He considers his grandfather, Late “Padmabhushan” Dr. N.N. Godbole as a true icon.
Books on/by Lee Iacocca (Autobiography), Mark McCormack (What they Don’t Teach You
at HBS), Konsuke Matsushita (Not for Bread Alone), Jack Welch (GE), Akio Morita
(Sony), John Sculley (Pepsi to Apple), Icon (Steve Jobs), Goal (Dr. Goldratt), are
a few remarkable books that influenced him.

Dr. Madhav Sathe, Jt Honorary Secretary, The Bombay Mothers & Children Welfare Society,
Mumbai
Dr. Madhav Sathe has been working with The Bombay Mothers & Children Welfare Society,
Mumbai since 1985, The Trust is running a Multi-Specialty Hospital, Tilak Hospital,
located in BDD Chawl, Worli. It provides primary and secondary healthcare facilities
to needy patients at a subsidized rate. The infrastructure includes diagnostic centre,
operation theatre, general ward and special rooms. The Trust also has a Cancer Patients
Convalescent Home, where out of town patients and their relatives can stay for a
short duration. The institution also has rural hospitals at Rajgurunagar and Bhilawadi.
In addition the institute is engaged in rural development activities in 39 villages
around Rajgurunagar. The developmental interventions are mainly in focus areas such
as health, education, environment and vocational training. Dr. Madhav Sathe is the
main ‘Change agent’ in transforming the entire face of this institute.
This Trust which was founded in 1919 was on the verge of closing down in 1985. It
was at that time that Dr. Sathe joined. He won the confidence of the staff, workers
and turned around the Trust by working innovatively and with sheer dedication. He
started Crèches at 4 locations and that ensured that the Trust earned sufficient
funds to finance its subsidized medical services. Thus they can charge as low as
Rs. 2000 for child delivery and Rs. 5000 for a Caesarian Delivery!
Dr. Sathe is an MBBS Doctor from Dr. V. M. Medical College, Solapur and an MD from
Grant Medical College, Mumbai.

Dr Girish Kulkarni , Honorary Director, Snehalaya, Ahmednagar
has been working with Snehalaya since 1989. The institute main campus is located
in MIDC area of Ahmednagar. The Organization has been working with a vision to develop
awareness and capability in those members of the society who have been deprived
of their rights because of the inequality in the society. They have been helping
and rehabilitating
- The victims of commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking
- Rescued victims (minors and major) from the flesh trade
- HIV positive women and children
- Deprived women and children from slums
- Rehab. Of unwed mothers, widow mothers, raped victims and their children through
adoption
- Women and children in need of care and protection
Dr. Kulkarni is a very devoted and dedicated person, who has sacrificed his whole
life for the most hatred and deprived people in society. More than 500 girls/women
in prostitution have changed their lives because of counseling and special efforts
taken by him. The entire facility of Snehalaya is very clean and well managed by
a very committed staff. The institution also enjoys a very high level of respect
and confidence in the Ahmednagar. This NGO is playing a very critical role in stabilizing
the imbalance in the society.
Dr. Girish has a Masters degree in Sociology and has also obtained a Ph. D. in Political
Science. Thousands of individuals and hundreds of institutions joined Snehalaya
because of his efforts. He is the ideal personality for whole team of Snehalaya.

Ms. Kalpana Pant, Chaitanya, Rajgurunagar
has been working with Chaitanya, an Non Government Orgnaisation (NGO) working for
upliftment and empowerment of rural women in Micro Finance activities, participating
in the form of Self Help Groups (SHGs). Chaitanya have taken a lead in spreading
the movement of Federations - groups of about 5000 women involved in the Micro-Finance
activities. Within 2 years they have spread the activities in seven districts in
Maharashtra and increased the number of Federations from three to fourteen. One
of Kalpana’s successes has been ‘Manthan’, the creation of a network of NGOs which
receive inputs to build their capacity and improve their effectiveness. Kalpana
is passionate about the need for improved planning, monitoring, and evaluation of
community based organizations. Through her dedication and vision she has built an
effective program that provides training, workshops, and other inputs to address
such needs.
Kalpana is an M. Phil. in Modern Indian History from the JNU, Delhi. In addition
to her achievements in promoting need based programs, Kalpana has inspired in others
the desire to push forth their ideas. In addition to developing her own ideas, she
has always been willing to help and assist others in their initiatives as well.

Life Time Achievement Award for Dr. Vijay Bhatkar
|
Dr. Vijay Bhatkar is founder Executive Director of C-DAC where he led India’s
national initiative in supercomputing by architecting PARAM series of supercomputers
in teraflop range. He also led the development of GIST multilingual technology dissolving
the language barrier on computer once for all. He is also credited with founding
of many national institutions, including C-DAC, ER&DC, Trivandrum, ETH Research
Lab, Pune; MKCL, International Institute of Information Technology, Pune and several
innovation-based start-ups.
Dr. Bhatkar is the author/editor of 8 books and 80 research & technical papers.
Dr. Bhatkar was a Member of Scientific Advisory Committee of Government of India
(1987-90), Governing Council Member of CSIR (2006-07) and IT Task Force that was
constituted by PM (1998). Dataquest magazine has recognized Dr. Bhatkar amongst
25 distinguished IT leaders who shaped India’s IT industry during the last 25 years.

(2000), Maharashtra Bhushan (1999) Dataquest Lifetime Achievement Award (2003),
Distinguished Alumni Award of IIT, Delhi (1994).
He is Fellow of IEEE, ACM, CSI, National Academy of Engineering, National Academy
of Sciences & Maharashtra Academy of Sciences.
